Since 1928, Century has been making batteries in Australia. In this time, we’ve developed the engineering expertise to design and manufacture products suited for Australia’s hotter climate and harsh road conditions.

The Performance Series
In 2004, we launched the ground-breaking ‘Performance Series’ - batteries designed and built tough in Australia for our conditions.

Our Performance batteries feature many design improvements over a number of imported batteries. The improvements reduce the factors that impact on the life of your battery, including:

• our hotter climate – speeding up internal acid corrosion and water loss
• our rough roads – causing damaging vibration
• constant idling – congested urban traffic, constantly running air-conditioning and entertainment systems drain away battery life
• under-bonnet temperatures - often reaching more than 75°C.

3 times longer life
Independent testing, using the internationally recognised SAE J240 cycle-life testing standard (at 75°C), shows Century’s ‘Ultra Hi Performance’ product lasts up to three times longer than common heavy-duty or imported battery types.

Our distribution network
Century is also famous for its distribution network, spanning the length and breadth of Australia. Wherever you are, you will have a Century outlet close by.

Our capital city Metropolitan Distribution Centres and Regional Depots supply products to 8,000 battery resellers Australia-wide.

What we do

We design, manufacture, import and distribute lead-acid batteries in Australia and New Zealand for automotive, transport, heavy equipment, materials handling, forklift and specialty applications.

We have two battery manufacturing plants in Brisbane, Australia. Our automotive plant is in Carole Park and our industrial plant is in Wacol.
